As part of the GCR team, there are a billion ways to make an impact.
With an annual $1 billion in research awards, UCLA is a catalyst for stimulating the country’s health and economic prosperity. UCLA and Capitol Hill are closely linked — from the one third of Bruins who receive federal Pell grants, to the hundreds of research breakthroughs that count on federal dollars and the 4,500 Bruins who live in the D.C. region.
UCLA Government and Community Relations generates support for the University by building relationships that coordinate the University’s response to a wide range of political and policy issues. As part of G&CR, you may visit policymakers in Sacramento or Washington D.C.; work with schools, centers and community organizations to improve lives across Los Angeles; or organize support for legislation that positively impacts public higher education. Your goals: inform elected officials about UCLA’s contributions to communities and issues of interest, and mobilize our constituents to keep the university moving forward as a research and academic powerhouse.
When you join Government and Community Relations you’ll become part of the team helping to advance scientific breakthroughs, drive our economy and ensure that UCLA remains accessible to all, regardless of financial background.
